There Goes Another One...

It's been a minute since I last dropped a blog, so I figured I'd post one for year end. The first decade in the 21st century is coming to an end. In a nutshell 2009 was one hell of a roller coaster ride. Had it's up's and down's, and it's a relief that I can end it on a pretty damn good note.

I was able to do a pretty good amount of traveling towards the end of the year, which pretty much made up for the first three quarters of 2009. It's pretty sad how I classify my year with my quarterly work schedule. Made some fond memories and unfortunately a couple of bad ones. But hey, that's just how life is and we all move on. This year I was able to squeeze my yearly Vegas trip, along with New Orleans (605, I see you! We there with you in spirit! WHO DAT?), and Miami.

2010 is going to be a monster though. The current lineup of places we got planned is unreal. Dominican Republic, Las Vegas, Ibiza, Rio, Chicago, London, Paris, and Rio tentative sked. Well, I am carrying over 17 days and counting going into next year, so I think it's possible to pull it off. Hahaha

Until then folks, in about 9 hours and change we'll be hitting up another year. If you're going to be out, be safe, stay warm, practice safe sex, and have fun. Life's to short for us not to enjoy.

Peace out haters!

Tell Em' Why You Mad Son Vol. Benedict Arnold

The United States had lost a heart breaker this past Sunday in a thriller against Football powerhouse Brazil 3-2 in the Confederation Cup Final. an early strike by Clint Dempsey and a goal by Lando carried the U.S. after the first half with a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, the sporting Gods strike again and continue to make the lives of the trio miserable when Brazil rallied in the second half of regulation scoring three goals, and winning the Cup final 3-2.

But to be honest, I'm not even mad that the U.S. lost. Disappointed? Yes. But I'm a realist. I was hopeful that U.S. would steal the show. But I knew the reality of things. It's good to see that the U.S. is progressing and showing some glimpses of greatness. Congrats to you gentlemen.

What irks me is the lack of support "Americans" show for their country. I have a friend whom actually cheered for Brazil National team to win this match, and continued to be a dickhead after the Americans lost the match. Now 99.8% of the time I can give two shits to whatever team anybody cheers for. I know who my squads are and will show my loyalty until I'm six feet under. (Knicks, Mets, Giants, Arsenal, Rangers, Hofstra, etc.) And I won't front. I cheer for other teams to, just as long as they're not playing my team. As long as they're not facing any of the given teams above, I think it's fair game.

But it's different when the competition is brought on to an international stage. As an American, no matter what it is, basketball, baseball, soccer, track and field, swimming, professional jerking off, etc., you will always see me showing support for the red, white, and blue. And it bothers me to see people reap the benefits of being an American and pledging their support to another country. If you're willingly going to support another country because you "hate" the U.S., say that we suck, etc. go fucking live somewhere else. The athletes are here to bring some pride and glory for our country and the last thing they need is for their own people to be against them. It's basically a slap in the face to your own country when people are out there jeering, calling American athletes failures, etc.

You might think I'm taking it a bit overboard, and I can relate to those who say they're showing support for their culture/heritage. Keep in mind folks, I am of Chinese descent, and I am very proud of my hertiage and people. But then again, I was born and raised in American born Chinese, and American citizen. Therefore, my allegiance and support will be for U.S., even if they're facing China PR.

That's my little rant for the day. K-Rod just walked in a fucking run to Mariano Rivera and the Yankees just swept the subway series at Shea. I'm done for the night.

Peace out haters. USA!

A win-win never felt this bad...

If you're one of the rare few that actually enjoy following football (soccer for you bloody Americans) the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals started today. As an Arsenal fan, it was a relief to see that the Gooners were finally making strides to some silverware instead of settling with third or fourth place.

And then came this afternoon, when fellow Premiership powerhouse Manchester United came to Emirates stadium and laid a beatdown on the Gunners, 3-1 final score. At least they brought the pain early. 11 minutes into regulation, United scored two early goals, one being a 45-yard BOMB by no other than the beautiful one himself (No homo) Cristiano Ronaldo.

I'm not mad though. I like Manchester United. Mainly because of Cristiano, but who wouldn't cheer for such a talented player like Cristiano? Fucking A yo, the Gooners were so close to FINALLY winning some silverware. That's why it hurts...

F' YOU SPORTS!

As you might know, I am an avid sports fanatic and have a strong loyalty for my teams. Unfortunately, the teams that I'm a fan of have been nothing but disappointing (with the exception of the G-Men) for twenty three years. So a couple of friends and I whipped up a new sports blog about the misery of being a sports fans.

The blog is not written by your typical fake fan. We are the tremendous trio. We are the definition of hooligans. Die hards. We bite our tongues for nobody. We'll tell you what we think and how we see shit. Best of all, if your having a bad sports day, we probably have it worst.

Give our blog a peek. Bookmark that shit and keep up with our shananigans! Peace out haters. Holla at ya boy!

It's a Cold Lonely World

So, Thanksgiving day I went to visit my grandma for the first time in almost two years. To keep a long story short, some family drama breaks out, divides the family, and ends up making seeing/talking to each other that much more difficult. It didn't hit me until that afternoon when I realized that it's truly a sad lonely world we live in.

My brother and I head over to my uncle's crib where she's been living at for the past, 50 years? I haven't been there in years, but it hadn't changed a bit. So my uncle accompanies us to see her in the bedroom where she spends where I'd say about twenty-two hours of her day.

When I walked into the room, a harsh reality hit me folks. I went to give my grandma a hug. Instead she resisted, held out her right hand and came at me with a handshake. I was confused. My brother was confused since he got the same treatment. She looks at my uncle and asks "Who are these two tall boys?" "They're your grand children" he said, telling her our Chinese names. "Who's kids are they?" It began to sink in. She's gone almost 98% senile.

This is the same woman who accompanied me to my first day of Kindergarten. The same woman who cut up fruits for me and brought out snacks after I finished my spelling homework. The same woman who was always over-protective of me both as an adult and child, and gave my bro a beat down if he laid a hand on me when we were kids. (lol sorry Jay) What is even crazier, is that she didn't even recognize my pops when he came to visit.

The memories of her children, grand children, and who knows what else, gone. Just like that. It's a bitch what old age can do to you. It's sad. The majority of her days she spends in her room. With the accompany of a bed, a broken drawer, a dusty table with a blanket over it and a dimmed light fixture. I guess I can understand the reasoning of her not leaving the house. She can barley recognize her own family, yet alone expect her to roam the streets.

But yeah folks. If there's any amends you've gotta make, beefs you need to settle, or need to just say hi to someone you haven't seen in a while. Take a little time, and go about doing so. Nobody deserves to go on living life like that. It's not worth it.

Sayonara folks!

Background Story: Fantasy football is some serious business man. So serious that so far this season, we've had money drama, racial epithets, physical threats, and even one GM calling to being in the local authoritahhhh. hahahaha

In this case, the GM for "The Jets Suck" calls out the GM for the "Tom Cruise Line" franchise whom happens to be the league clown/idiot/cry baby/virgin/racist.

Either way, this league has been straight up comedy since the start.

I'm about to lose my game this week, making my team a horrendous 6-5. Fucking dude I'm facing had Peyton Manning, Addai, Ted fucking Ginn, and DeAngelo Williams. Talk about epic FAIL.

hahaha oh well... Peace out haters.

Withdrawl

I haven't wrote anything relevant for a while, and I figured it's time to get in some practice before I lose my touch. Anyway, a few weeks ago I experienced a rude awakening. I've decided that I'm going to make an attempt to cut my smoking down to "social smoking" status. This would mean limiting myself to such activities like heavy drinking. Hopefully, I'd get around to quitting in general.

My friends and I have assembled a "Redeem Team," in an effort to prove we're not a bunch of "old wash ups." We're scrimmaging against the "ISS Flight," a bunch of trash-talking and annoying (haha remind you of someone) Chinatown high schoolers and college kids. It was my first time actually playing ball since the summer, and the first time since I'd say college since I've actually run a full court game.

So we're all doing our thing. 10-15 minutes into it, I'm on the court feeling outta breath. A little dizzy and I start feeling the taste of blood with every breath I took. I thought to myself, what the fuck this is not good. I got someone to sub in for me, and while I stood hovering over the sink in the bathroom coughing. My phlemn was black. Some pretty nasty stuff man.

Being the stubborn dude that I am I said to myself, "Aiite, if I switch from Menthols to Parliment Lights, it should make things better. It's gotta be the fiberglass," and all sorts of bologna. Did that, played again two more weeks and like last week I wasn't spitting out ash. But I felt like I was hit by a fucking Mack truck. If I wanted to continue rolling with my boys, I'd better take care of this.

Also, the girl that I've been seeing these past couple of months expressed her displeasure for smokers this past weekend. She let me know the deal and said she "told herself she'd never date a smoker," and that now that she's dating one is something new for her. Kind of got me thinking at first, because I figured she already knew my deal when we first met. But that's irrelavant. hahaha come to think of it, none of the chicks that I've seen really approved of my vice. But hey, she's put up with it this long, and hasn't been on my case like some people why not give it a shot for her? I think I owe it to my family, friends, and most importantly myself. Life is way too short. I've got too much to live for.

It's going to be a long and brutal process lol. But yeah, I'm going to finally try to fulfill a new years resolution I've had for three years. Until next time haters, be good and stay safe.. Holla at ya boy.
